The Profile Goalie Mask has one of the most distinguishable shapes in mask history and with almost 20 straight years of unedited designs, the 940 has new features.

Taking the already extremely protective Profile shape, Bauer has created the 940X. This mask features Bauer’s new proprietary designs and technology. The base of the shell is a LEXAN EXL Polycarbonate base, similar to the Bauer NME 5.

The cage of the Profile is the same shape as its predecessors, but Bauer has gone to a more pro look with removing the oval red logo in the middle of the forehead. On the outside Bauer has also removed the option for the chin strap and harness placement. Now, the backplate harness anchors down below the ear creating a more snug fit to the goalies head.

Rubatex foam is attached to a mechanically attached liner which when the cage comes unscrewed, the liner can be taken out and cleaned. The layering of padding has Ventilated VN foam in high impact zones through the forehead and ears. Partnered next to the Ventilated VN foam, Bauer’s use of Black Rubatex Foam is found in the crown, temples, chin cup and backplate. Lastly, Bauer has added their stock sweatband that helps keep the head cool, reduce the sweat buildup and keep sweat out of the goalies eyes.
